Dick Tracy was an immensely successful, conservative-leaning comic strip that glorified innovative law enforcement against diabolical adversaries.

Created by Chester Gould during the gangster era of Al Capone, this comic strip has continued and thrived after Gould passed away.[1] At the time "Dick" was a nickname for "detective".

Movie

A movie version, also called Dick Tracy, was critically acclaimed and the 9th highest grossing American film in 1990.[2] Warren Beatty directed and starred in it.
