BCE is the abbreviated form of the term "Before Common Era", a mathematical, but not philosophical equivalent of BC, or "Before Christ". Some historians have argued that the use of BC implies that all history is relative to Christ, whereas the use of BCE denies that Christ is the basis of our calendar system. However, the date of Jesus' Birth being the inherent defining points between the liberal terms of BCE and CE illustrate the paradox of the Liberal attempt to separate Christian influence from Academic studies despite the innate presence of Christianity in all aspects of life, Academic studies not excluded.
