Ballotpedia
Ballotpedia is an informative, non-profit, and mostly non-partisan website that largely gathers and lists data on U.S. elections in addition to political officeholders and candidates. Powered by MediaWiki,[1] the site was launched in 2007 and is sponsored by the Lucy Burns Institute.[2]
Occasional liberal bias
While mostly nonpartisan, Ballotpedia once in a while shows examples of liberal bias, such as asserting the strongly conservative Todd Akin to be âfar-rightâ based on a GovTrack chart with no specific labels on the axes.[3] In addition, the website repeated the misleading and mostly false assertion that liberal Democrat Haley Stevens served as the âchief of staffâ of Barack Obama's auto ârescueâ[4] when documents stated that Stevens was merely a âspecial assistantâ and âconfidential assistantâ.[5]
