Jared Golden

Jared Forrest Golden (born July 25, 1982) is a U.S. veteran and representative from Maine's second congressional district.

2018 U.S. House election in Maine's 2nd district

Golden was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018, defeating then-incumbent Republican Bruce Poliquin. While initially losing the general election to Poliquin by a margin of just over 2,000 votes, no candidate gained a majority, which triggered a ranked-choice runoff, that which Golden won by just under 3,000 votes.

House impeachment coup against Donald Trump

Serving in a swing district, Golden voted for the first article of impeachment against Donald Trump but against the second one.

Breaks from party far-leftists

Golden was the sole democrat to vote against the Farm Workforce Modernization Act which would give pathway to citizenship for some illegals. He was also only one of two democrats who voted with Republicans to not encourage voter fraud. He was the lone democrat to vote against the America Rescue Plan Act.
