Nihonium

Nihonium is a synthetic element which was recently discovered and given a name in June, 2016. Previously, it had been called "Ununtrium", its atomic number in Latin.

Obtained from	Element 115 must first be made. Atoms of americium are bombarded with ions of calcium in a cyclotron, which produces moscovium. Then, moscovium quickly alpha decays into nihonium.

Nihonium is named after the Japanese word for Japan, nihon.
