A revolt refers to rebellion against an established authority. Some historians use "revolt" to refer to an attemptâusually unsuccessfulâto change the government or its main policies, while defining revolution as a deeper, successful change in the political and economic system.
John F. Kennedy said, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." [1]
