| | ::Yes, there are conservatives in San Francisco. I'm one of them. I'm sure there is a Christian or too in Mecca, too, but don't doubt that it IS a gay mecca. I'm maybe 10-15 blocks north of an enormous gay pride flag that towers over Market at Castro. I've been downtown, and there will be a naked man just walking the streets, unhindered by police. Don't get me wrong, I love this city. It is a beautiful place, and I love living 10 minutes from the beach, 30 minutes from the forests, with enormous parks and gorgeous architecture. But make no mistake: gay mecca is the perfect term for San Francisco. [[User:JacobB|JacobB]] 20:11, 17 February 2010 (EST) | | ::Yes, there are conservatives in San Francisco. I'm one of them. | | + | :::There are a lot of gay people in San Francisco. I live in the Bay Area and it's just a fact. Various groups of people just seem to gravitate to places where people who are similar to them live. So there are a lot of Hispanic people living in San Jose, a large Chinese community in Oakland, and a lot of retired people who live in Albany, CA. On the whole, the area is very diverse, you can find almost every ethnicity, race, religion, economic status, and politically viewed people here, the Bay Area is one of the most diverse places in the U.S. Regarding the other example, naked people are not allowed to walk about unclothed in public anymore, there is now a law against public nudity: http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2013/03/21/federal-judge-upholds-public-nudity-ban-in-san-francisco/ [[User:Taj|Taj]] 17:20, 21 April 2013 (EDT) |
