== German Emperor vs. Emperor of Germany ==
The second German empire was a very federal state, and the title of the head of state hotly debated. The princes agreed on "German emperor" instead of "Emperor of Germany", mainly to show that the King of Prussia was only ''primus inter pares'' (it seems that especially Kaiser Wilhelm II was very irked by this...) --[[User:AugustO|AugustO]] ([[User talk:AugustO|talk]]) 09:57, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
