| | Around the end of July, 2016, a Pakistani man named Imran Awan was still employed by FL congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, former head of DNC who had to resign in the wake of the DNC emails published by Wikileaks showing DNC bias against Bernie Sanders. Imran Awan was arrested at Dulles Airport, airport for DC, as he was attempting to fly to Pakistan. Apparently his arrest was on the grounds of some banking action he was involved in only. It appears that the 3 Awan brothers, and possibly a lady in the family, are computer gurus, employable as IT workers. Probably IT Awan had password access to DNC computer(s). He had been excluded from access to Congressional computer(s) some time ago, but Debbie kept him on her payroll. There is a good possibility that Imran and Seth Rich knew each other at the DNC. Thus far I have seen no motive given for why Awan would have leaked to Wikileaks. | | + | ::I'm in total agreement - Imran had no motive to leak. If anything, he's exhibited intense loyalty to Wasserman Schultz. As to his arrest, there was a warrant used to secure the smashed hard drives on his rental property. It will take some time to examine and recover contents. But if for example classified committee documents are recovered, this opens the possibility of espionage. |
| | + | ::As an aside, and an important point that needs more understanding, the ''Daily Caller'' reports that rules for Congress differ from the Executive Branch. The Executive uses a hierarchy of categories for "classified information", but zCongress itself only has something like 'public' and 'confidential'. But Congressional Oversight Committees handle various levels if Executive Branch classifications which they moreless can respect or leak, depending on the situation. The point is, the meaning of "classified information" - and consequences for mishandling - in the Legislstive differs from the Executive.
