:::::::::The Vietnam war was insane. Look at Peter's comment, above: Truman's "natural instinct was always to treat the communists as potential allies against the "fascist" GOP. Don't forget that he fired MacArthur for trying to win the Korean War." MacArthur was for a long time a serious GOP challenger for president against both FDR & Truman; when Eisenhower was elected, MacArthur remarked that Ike was the best staff officer he ever had. :::::::::::That's right; anyone not onboard with Russia's war effort against [[Nazi Germany]] was deemed a "[[fascist]]", for example, union workers who went on strike for higher wages in wartime, which would break wartime wage and price controls, were called "fascists". Just as today anyone who does not support Russia defense against NATO aggression is a fascist.
