::To take out a submarine, you need a sonar buoy to transmit coordinates of a moving target while you fly in circles waiting for the transmission (assuming no electronic radio jamming); they already knew the coordinates, just had to sneak in and out in the wee small hours of the morning. :::So you are sticking with Hersh? According to Hersh, it was a U.S.-Norwegian operation. He doesn't have a role for Ukrainian intelligence. The German prosecution is based on the theory that the Ukrainians brought in explosives using the yatch Andromeda. As I have said before, I think Mark Bowden's account is the most plausible version of what happened. He talks a lot about the Andromeda and he doesn't mention the Poseidons. PeterKa (talk) 04:53, August 16, 2024 (EDT)

::::Hersh had that part right - it was ordered by Biden & Jake Sullivan, with Norwegian assistance. The part about Navy divers Hersh extrapolated from his years of reporting on Washington. But we have the air traffic control records on how it was carried out. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 05:19, August 16, 2024 (EDT)
