Donald Bane was the brother of Malcolm III and became king of Scotland only after a long struggle, that ended with Bane besieging, and capturing [[Edinburgh]] castle. However Donald Bane was ousted by english nobles however, and was replaced by Malcolm III's son, Duncan. Donald bane then returned to Scotland after a brief Exile, and reclaimed the throne.
