Cornwall is a county on the most extreme South western tip of England. It lies to the west of Devon, which is it's only land boundary. Historically the area relied heavilly on tin and lead mining as well as fishing, but the focus of industry is now firmly on tourism. Cornwall is bounded on all but one side by the sea, and has one of the most favourable climates in Britain.
Cornwall is regarded as being one of the Celtic Nations, and has its own language, related to modern Welsh and Breton. Although the language has now died out, it survives in written form and a growing numebr of people are learning it as part of a wider celtic renaisance in the county. The county has a national flag which is a white horizontal cross on a black background, and is known as the flag of St. Pirran. Principal towns and cities in Cornwall include, Truro, St. Ives, St.Austell, Falmouth, and Looe.
