Game of Thrones is a fantasy television series based on the 'Song of Ice and Fire' series of novels by George R. R. Martin, with each season roughly following one of the novels.

The stories are set in the fictional world of 'Westeros' and includes such places as 'King's Landing', 'Winterfell' and 'The Wall. The series produced by HBO uses mostly British actors and capitalizes on the use of difference between the southern and northern accents spoken in the U.K. The show is also known for its unpredictable plot, such as when Ned Stark - a main character - is simply executed, and later when his wife, Catelyn Stark and eldest son, Robb Stark, are suddenly murdered at a wedding (called the Red Wedding).

The show glamorizes many foul acts, such as incest, homosexuality, bestiality and swearing.

Grey Characters

There are no absolute good or evil characters in the stories. One of the most popular characters 'Tyrion Lannister', a dwarf, is intelligent, cold and calculating but also has great sympathy for fellow outcasts and the mistreated.
