Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, is the largest city in Vietnam and known as Pearl of the Orient.[1] Ho Chi Minh City is located near the South China Sea, and is currently the capital of Vietnam[2] It is named after Communist revolutionary and dictator, Ho Chi Minh. Ho Chi Minh City has 8,190,775 inhabitants.[3]

Ho Chi Minh City played an important role during the Vietnam War. The US embassy of Saigon was attacked by the Viet Cong on January 31, 1968.[4] 1975 the Communists took the control over the city.

Vietnam is a country in Southeast Asia, bordered by China to the north, Laos and Cambodia to the west, and the Pacific Ocean to the east and south. [5]
