The Viet Minh (from Viá»t Nam Ãá»c Láºp Ãá»ng Minh Há»i, "League for the Independence of Vietnam") was a Comintern-affiliated force in Vietnam, fighting against both French colonial occupation and occupation by the Japanese during the Second World War. Their leader was Ho Chi Minh, who went on to lead North Vietnam and the Vietcong during the Vietnam War until his death.
