North Carolina is located in the Southeastern region of the United States and on November 21st, 1789 became the twelfth state to enter into the union. North Carolina was once a member of the Confederate States of America. The capital of North Carolina is Raleigh and its largest city is Charlotte. The current governor of North Carolina is Mike Easley, a Democrat.
