RedState
RedState is a conservative news website founded on July 11, 2004 by Josh Trevino, Ben Domenech, and Mike Krempasky, then known as RedState.org.
RedState is currently run by Erick Erickson and a volunteer team of front page contributors as a hub of conservative grassroots collaboration on the right. In December 2006 they were purchased by Eagle Publishing, Inc. By registering with the site, anyone can become contributors to RedState and their contributions are called diaries. The best stuff gets voted on by the community and the best of the best gets put on the front page for the world to see.
RedState disinvited Donald Trump from an event on August 8, 2015, by siding with feminist ideology and pandering to the Fox News Channel after the Trump campaign criticized one of its lead reporters. Trump responded to RedState as follows:
| “ | This is just another example of weakness through being politically correct. For all of the people who were looking forward to Mr. Trump coming, we will miss you. Blame Erick Erickson, your weak and pathetic leader. | ” |
RedState has also banned stories on Obama birth certificate controversy and 9/11 Truther contributions, RedState repeated statements wrongfully condemning Todd Akin, effectively casting their lot as a Rino Backer.
