"Black Jesus" is a satirical comedy television series broadcast on the liberal US station Adult Swim. The show, as its title implies, focuses on an African American version of Jesus Christ, who has returned as the Messiah per traditional prophecy and is living in Compton, California in the modern day. Despite the show's questionable portrayal of Christ and the black community, and common usage of illegal substances by characters, some reviewers claim that the Black Jesus character's method of spreading the Lord's message of love and compassion is present and may actually act as a way to reach the young and rebellious modern audience of today.[1]
