Han Feizi was a Chinese philosopher. He created a philosophy known as Legalism based on the ideas of Shang Yang. This philosophy emphasizes the need to promote the ruler's authority through strict laws and enforcement. This is in contrast to Confucianism which emphasized moral duty and the need for superiors, including the ruler, to set a good example in this regard.
Han Feizi is also the name of Han Fei's book, in which he lays out the concept of legalism.
