Telsa Model 3 is the next generation electric car from Telsa Motors. 400,000 people have placed $1000. down payment to pre-order the car anticipated to be available at the end of 2017. Starting price is $35,000. not including a large $7,500. government tax rebate. Models with additional features will push the cost well above $45,000. The car will be manufactured in Nevada at the still under construction Gigaplant 1 facility.
Features include 215-mile driving range and it will seat 5 adults. Options include all wheel drive and the 'ludicrous' speed package, autopilot hardware, and supercharging. Top speed of 60 miles per hour in about six seconds. Much of the car's interior design has not been made public yet. Sources conclude that a minimalist dashboard is in order and all controls will be available by touchscreen. Speculation is that Telsa will also include a heads-up display of MPH.
