Presumed Death
On March 1, 2009, a ship carrying Smith, Oakland Raiders linebacker Marques Cooper, and two others capsized off the coast of Florida while on a fishing trip. One survivor, a former University of South Florida player named Nick Schulyer, was found. The other three passengers are presumed dead.
