Dustin Luis Pedroia, born 1983, is a Major League Baseball second baseman who currently plays for the Boston Red Sox. He has played his entire professional career with Boston after being drafted by them in 2004 out of Arizona State University. He is known for his everyman appearance and a talkative nature. On December 3, 2008, Pedroia signed a six-year contract extension with the Red Sox worth $40.5 million.
