William Prescott

Colonel William Prescott was born in Groton, Massachusetts on February 20, 1726. He served in the army in both the American Revolutionary War and the French and Indian War, including playing an important role in the Battle of Bunker Hill. Prescott died on October 13, 1795.
Prescott is sometimes attributed with the famous quote "Don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes!" during the Battle of Bunker Hill, but some historians credit General Israel Putnam instead.[1]
