Ataxia is a neurological symptom chracterized by gross incoordination of muscle movements usually caused by damage to parts of the brain or central nervous system which coordinate movement. There are several possible causes for the condition ranging from physical injury, disease, stroke, tumours, substance abuse, hereditary factors[1] and vitamin deficiency.[2]

"International Ataxia Awareness Day" is held on September 25 each year.
