Sharpshooter

A sharpshooter is someone particularly skilled in shooting, being derived from sharp-eyed shooter or someone who can hit a target with pinpoint accuracy. As a formal designation in the military it denotes a rating above marksman but below expert in the use of small arms.
Additional uses of the term may apply to sportsmen having an accurate aim in sports like archery, basketball, ice hockey or soccer.
Ironically, despite their enthusiasm for "gun control", liberals tend to make poor sharpshooters.
