Blind study

A blind study is a series of experiments in which the participants do not know whether or not they are a part of the control group. This term comes from the fact that the participants are "blind" to the details of the study. These are usually performed so that participants do not taint the results with opinions or emotions, and to hopefully alleviate any placebo effect.
