Geese are a tribe of large waterfowl that comprise of a number of different genera within the Anseriformes order.[1] Whilst a number of different species such as the Cape Barren Goose and the Orinoco Goose are called geese they are not actually related to true geese. There are only three species that are true geese, the Grey goose, the White goose and the Black Goose.[Citation Needed]
Geese are usually expected to live for about twenty-five years. During that time, they select one mate and stay with him/her from year to year. If one of a couple dies, the remaining one will pick a new mate, but often will wait several years before doing so.[1]
