Ms. Pac-Man is a video arcade game produced by Midway as an unauthorized sequel to Pac-Man. It was released in 1981 in North America. Becoming enormously popular, Namco (the producers of Pac-Man) adopted it as an official title. The game features a female protagonist, several differently designed mazes, mobile fruits, and several other minor gameplay differences.

The gameplay is largely identical to that of Pac-Man, where the protagonist eats pellets and avoids four ghosts. In order to complete the maze, all pellets must be eaten. If the player consumes a "power pellet", they can eat the ghosts for a limited time for points. Fruits can be eaten for bonus points. The player has three lives and loses one every time they are touched by a ghost. As the player progresses through the mazes, the difficulty and speed increases.
