Pixar Animation Studios is an animation studio headquartered in Emeryville, California. It was founded by Steve Jobs, who also founded Apple Computer. Today, Pixar is now a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company.
Pixar is very well known worldwide for its computer-animated films, which has earned them considerable critical acclaim. The company has beat out many other fine animation studios to win awards, such as corporate sibling Walt Disney Animation Studios (Princess and the Frog, Tangled) , Dreamworks Animation (Monsters Vs Aliens, Megamind) , Fathom Studios (Delgo, and Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away).
