Doug Jones
Douglas "Doug" Jones is an Alabama attorney and former US Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, who is running for the December 12th, 2017 special election for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions against Roy Moore. Jones first came to prominence in 1998, when, as US Attorney, he prosecuted two members of the Ku Klux Klan for the 1963 Birmingham Church Bombing, which had killed four girls.
Jones supports abortion, even to the point of supporting partial birth abortion. Jones, who owns guns himself, says he supports gun rights and the Second Amendment, but many of his statements suggest that he really supports further gun control. He supports gay right. Jones is running with the support of and funding from out-of-state liberals.
