Isaiah 7:14

The Hebrew word "Almah", "עלמה" actually translates to a young, marriageable woman who is still under the protection of her family. So, the NRSV translators seem to actually be translating Isaiah 7:14 more accurately. But I'm no expert. NP

This passage is quoted in Matthew with the woman described in Greek as a virgin. The KJV translators had a policy of "harmonizing" Old Testament passages with the quotations given in the New Testament. Matthew got his version from the Septuagint, or Greek scripture.
