Pocket billiards

Pocket billiards is the term for a collective of games played on a billiard table having 6 pockets along the cushions, in which the aim is to knock the balls into.
The term Pocket billiards is now general not used, instead ‘pool’ is used to describe billiards many forms.
There are numerous different types of pocket billiards games, for example eight-ball, nine-ball and straight pool.
The game snooker is played on a table with pockets just like billiards, but is considered to be its own discipline of cue sport.
