Vilfredo Pareto

Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923) was an Italian economist responsible for several mathematical insights, particularly for economic equilibriums. He is credited with the work underlying indifference curves, and proved that a theory of demand did not depend on utility.
He is perhaps most famous for Pareto efficiency.
