A parson is a Protestant (especially Anglican) parish priest who presides over his congregation. He typically lives in a rectory or parsonage adjacent to the church.
The popular Christmas song Winter Wonderland refers to Parson Brown, as possible officiant of marriage.
The term is rarely used in modern times.
