Misrepresentation

Misrepresentation is a false representation of a person or of opinions or of positions. Sometimes misrepresentations can be used maliciously to misstate the wording of a person's position to make it seem like they are adopting a different position. Occasionally, misrepresentations can be done unintentionally, usually because of a failure of comprehension and poor paraphrasing.
