Polar bear
Polar bears are large carnivorous animals of the North Pole, hence the name polear bear. They eat mostly seals, although they have been known to eat people, or (in captivity) penguins (which are not part of their natural diet). A large polar bear can stand 11 feet tall and weigh more than 700 pounds, although small polar bears weigh less. The polar bear is on the Endangered Species List in the United States. There are very few of these bears left in the wild.
Polar bears have been known to interbreed with grizzly bears in the wild, producing a polar-grizzly hybrid that is, if anything, more ferocious than either bear on its own.[1]
At the moment, there is a polar bear cub in the Berlin zoo named "Knut," who has been the target of a campaign of death by German animal activists, who claim Knut would be "better off dead." However, as of this time Knut is not yet dead.
