James Joyce

James Joyce was born in 1882 in Dublin, Ireland. Joyce was an author and a poet. He lived in poverty until the publishing of his controversial book Ulysses in 1922. Joyce revolutionized the treatment of plot and characterization in fiction and is best known for his use of the stream of consciousness style. He died in Zurich in 1941. Other notable works include Finnegans Wake and Portrait of the Artist As a Young Man.
