Rhonda Butler
Rhonda Leger Butler (born September 3, 1963) is an incoming Republican state representative for District 38 in Evangeline and St. Landry parishes. She resides in Ville Platte but formerly lived in Turkey Creek, both communities in Evangeline Parish.[1]

Butler was elected to the state House of Representatives in the nonpartisan blanket primary held on October 12, 2019. With 8,880 votes (60 percent), Butler defeated two Democrats, "Phil Cowboy" Lemoine who received 3,920 votes (27 percent) and Taranza Arvie (born 1962) of Ville Platte, who polled 1,965 (13 percent). Turnout of registered voters was 54.9 percent.[2] Butler assumes the seat on January 13, 2020, when she succeeds Democratic Representative H. Bernard LeBas.
Mrs. Butler has owned and operated three businesses in Evangeline Parish for more than thirty years and has been heavily involved in economic development activities. For more than eight years, she has been a member of the Evangeline Parish Board of Tourism. She has been vice chairman of the Evangeline Parish Foundation. She sits on the advisory board for the Cabot Corporation in Ville Platte. She has also been active in the Parent-Teacher AssociatIon for Special Needs Children.<ref>More About Rhonda.
