Reignite: Fresh Focus for an Enduring Faith is a book by Jack Graham, Senior Pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church. It was published in 2021 by Bethany House Publishers.
Reignite explores a period of Dr. Graham's life (which he briefly mentioned in his prior book, Unseen, when he underwent prostate cancer surgery) -- a period which left him not only physically exhausted, but spiritually drained and depressed -- and the lessons he learned during that time. He recounts the two major mistakes he made during that period:
- Although prostate cancer surgery is considered "major", he thought that he would be healthy enough to undergo the surgery in mid-May, and be rested and healed a mere three weeks later (in time for the church to celebrate his 20th anniversary as pastor); however, he would need another two months before being able to preach, and a full year before recovering completely.
- On the "advice of a trusted friend", he elected not to tell the Prestonwood congregation that he was undergoing surgery (fearing that he may scare the younger people that attended); instead, by not relying on their prayers and support, he made his own situation worse (and, when he finally admitted what was going on, the congregation rallied around him).
The book also mentions many events which took place around the congregation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
