Allies

The Allies were the victorious countries of World War II, fighting to defeat the Axis. While the Allies were fighting against fascism, some Allied countries, notably the Soviet Union were far from democratic states themselves. France, Great Britain, and USA, while embracing values of liberty and democracy in the context of the struggle against fascism, had records which were inconsistent with those values, as do most "Liberal Democracies".
