The Sting (1973) was an immensely successful film that won 7 Oscars and garnered nearly 30 times in box revenues compared with its $5.9 million cost of production. The film was the most popular of its year.

This movie quite masculine in style, having many scenes that are all men. In one scene a woman is a villain who is dealt with more harshly than a woke film would.

The musical score for the movie was a big hit also.
