Claude Shannon

Claude Shannon (April 30, 1916 – February 24, 2001) was an American electrical engineer often considered the father of modern communications theory.[1] He is credited as one of the founders of information theory, especially due to his writing of "A Mathematical Theory of Communication"[2] in 1948, widely considered one of the most important founding documents of information theory.
Shannon was a distant cousin of his hero and his inspiration, Thomas Edison, although Shannon may not have known that.
