David Steel (b. 1938) is a British politician.

He is infamous as the author of the 1967 Abortion Act which, as of April 2022, has resulted in the murder of nearly 10 million unborn children.[1] He also failed to take action against pedophiles within his own party.

History

On 14 March 2019, it was reported that Steel had been suspended from the Liberal Democrats. This followed Steel's admission that he was aware of the sexual abuse committed by former colleague Cyril Smith and took no action against it.[2]
