David Steel (b. 1938) is a British politician.

He is infamous as the author of the 1967 Abortion Act which, as of April 2022, has resulted in the murder of nearly 10 million unborn children.[1] He also failed to take action against pedophiles within his own party and for his defence of child sexual abuse, he has been described by victims as "just as bad" as the pedophiles like Cyril Smith whom he protected.[2]

History

In October 1967, David Steel was responsible for introducing the Private Member's Bill that would become the Abortion Act 1967. This established a legal framework for the taxpayer funded murder of unborn children in the UK.

On 14 March 2019, it was reported that Steel had been suspended from the Liberal Democrats. This followed Steel's admission that he was aware of the sexual abuse committed by former colleague Cyril Smith and took no action against it.[3]
