Nicholas Young
Nicholas Young (b. 1980[1]) is a Muslim convert[2] with interest in both Islamic radicalism and Nazism[3], who used to dress up as a Nazi officer in reenactments and had the logo of an SS unit tattooed on his arm. He was a Washington, D.C. area police officer (a patrol officer in the D.C. regionâs Metrorail system. [4]) who has been labeled both a terrorist sympathizer and white supremacist was convicted in Dec 2017[3] of helping the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) and obstructing justice.[5]
This Muslim convert, Young, is the first law enforcement officer in the United States to be arrested and convicted for supporting a terrorist group.[2]
He faced up to 60 years in prison.[3]
Young is originally from the State of Va.. In 2019, federal appeals court tossed out the obstruction convictions and ordered a new sentencing hearing. It reimposed the 15 year term, saying Young's conduct remains troubling.[6]
