The Zaire Rite, or Zaire Use, is the popular liturgy in Zaire for Catholic churches.[1] It is different in significant respects from the Vatican liturgy, yet is fully authorized.

Pope Benedict XV, who in the apostolic letter Maximum illud, published in 30 November 1919, quoting Mk 16:15, gives recommendations to missionaries, asking them to bring the Gospel, not Europe, to their missions.[1]
