Flying Spaghetti Monster
The Flying Spaghetti Monster is a parody of religion that began as a critique of the Kansas Board of Education's decision to allow the teaching of Intelligent Design in public schools. Arguing that Intelligent Design was a thinly-veiled attempt to bring religion into the classroom, Henderson constructed "Pastafarianism" as a new theological system and argued that it too should be taught alongside Evolution and Intelligent Design. While it is denounced by the liberal media as a "parody religion", many scientists have given their support for the Flying Spaghetti Monster creation theory [1], perhaps equtiable to those who have given their support to creationism.
Pastafarians believe that the world was created by The Flying Spaghetti Monster with the help of His Noodly Appendage. They believe that The Flying Spaghetti Monster resides Heaven, which also contains a stripper factory and a beer volcano, as shown in this artist's rendition. [2] In addition, Pastafarians blame global warming on the decreasing amount of Pirates over the last 200 years. While this theory has came under some criticism, particularly by liberal news outlets such as CNN and Fox News, this graph[3] proves the correlation between the two.
