Jerry Lucas

Jerry Lucas' (b. 1940) was a basketball player who is considered one of the top 75 of all time in the NBA and one of the very best in college. He was remarkably twice named the NCAA (college) Player of the Year, in 1961 and 1962. He also had a spectacular 76-game winning streak in high school and shattered Wilt Chamberlain's high school career point record.
He promoted techniques for improving memory, which enabled him to display extraordinary, virtually photographic recall of information such as many people's names.
From Ohio, he became a devoted Christian by his final year in the NBA, when he memorized and could recite long passages in the New Testament.
