As of 2024, Alice Weidel is the leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party.

2025 elections

Alice Weidel gained the lead for Chancellorship after the 2024 Christmas Market terror attack that killed 5 and injured hundreds. The Bundestag was dissolved and President Steinmeier called for new elections.

Weidel was asked if she also wants to use "hate and agitation like Donald Trump" in her political campaigns. Weidel responded saying that people were sick of the media, they didn't want to hear all the hate the media had for Donald Trump and that's why he won, and that people don't want to hear that woke garbage anymore.[1]

Elon Musk posted on X, "only the AfD can save Germany" and penned an op-ed in support of his position in Welt am Sonntag.[2]
